Internal Doors

Bespoke timber internal doors to suit your home

Internal doors get used all day, every day. If they’re too light, they feel cheap. If they’re badly fitted, they catch, rattle and annoy you forever.

At JM Joinery we manufacture made-to-measure internal timber doors from our workshop in Callow, Herefordshire. We can match existing doors, tie in with new joinery, or create a completely new look through the house.

Supply only, or supply & fit within our installation area.

Why choose JM Joinery for internal doors?

  • Made to measure – no packing out linings or trimming cheap blanks to death.

  • Consistent look through the property – everything made to the same design.

  • Proper weight and feel – solid-core or solid timber constructions, not flimsy hollow doors.

  • Match to your existing details – panels, mouldings, bead profiles and heights.

  • One supplier – frames, linings, architraves and skirtings can all tie together.

Styles & layouts

We can copy an existing door, work from a photo, or design something from scratch. Typical options:

  • Traditional panelled doors – 1, 2, 3, 4, or 6-panel layouts.

  • Glazed doors – for halls, living rooms and kitchens where light matters.

  • Boarded / cottage-style doors – V-grooved or plank-style for character.

  • Modern flat-panel doors – clean, simple lines with sharp detailing.

  • Feature doors – wider, taller or with side panels for key rooms.

If you’re extending or refurbishing, we can make new doors to blend with good existing ones, so you don’t have a patchwork of styles.

Frames, linings & trims

We don’t just make the door leaf and walk away. If you want, we can supply:

  • Door linings / frames to suit wall thickness and opening.

  • Stops sized and detailed to match the door and hardware.

  • Architraves to match existing profiles or create a new look.

  • Skirting boards if you’re doing a full refit and want everything consistent.

That way, everything lines up and you’re not hunting around trying to match profiles from a merchant.

Timber & core options

We’ll suggest the right build depending on where the doors are going and how you want them to feel:

  • Softwood frames with MDF or timber faces – ideal for fully painted doors.

  • Hardwood options – for stained/clear-finished doors or higher impact areas.

  • Solid or solid-core constructions – for better sound reduction and feel.

We can also discuss moisture-resistant options for bathrooms and utility rooms.

Hardware & ironmongery

You can either:

  • Source your own handles, hinges and latches, or

  • Ask us to supply a full ironmongery set to suit the design.

We’ll make sure:

  • Hinges are sized for the weight of the door.

  • Latch and keep positions are consistent across the house.

  • Glazed doors use suitable safety glass where required.

Finishes

Internal doors can be supplied:

  • Primed and ready for painting – ideal for most projects.

  • Fully painted – if you want them finished out of the workshop.

  • Clear or stained – to show the timber and match other joinery.

We’ll advise what makes sense depending on the material, colour and usage.

Supply Only or Supply & Fit

Supply Only

  • Suitable if you have your own fitter or main contractor.

  • Doors, linings, architraves and hardware supplied as a complete package or individually.

  • Collection from our workshop in Callow (delivery can be discussed depending on order size).

Supply & Fit

  • Available within roughly an hour’s drive of HR2 8BP.

  • Old doors and linings removed as agreed, new frames and doors installed and adjusted properly.

  • Particularly useful when you want a clean, consistent finish through the whole property.

What we need to quote

To price internal doors sensibly, it helps if you can send:

  • Number of doors and rough sizes (height x width).

  • Photos of existing doors/frames and the areas they’re in.

  • Whether you want to match existing or change style completely.

  • If any doors need to be fire-rated.

  • Whether you want supply only or supply & fit, and your postcode.

We’ll then come back with a clear, itemised quote – door by door if needed.
